Veterinary Receptionist (Experience Required)

Full-Time or Part-Time | Northport, Alabama

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our well-established, high-volume, 2.5-doctor animal practice in Northport, Alabama. We’re looking for an energetic, positive individual who is highly organized, excels at multi-tasking, and truly enjoys helping both people and their pets.

With exciting changes ahead for our practice—including system updates and renovations—flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with change are strong advantages.


Position Highlights

  • Open to full-time or part-time candidates

  • Experience required in a veterinary environment

  • AVImark experience is HIGHLY preferred

  • Change management or adaptability to new systems and processes is a plus


Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent, compassionate client service both in person and over the phone

  • Greet clients, check patients in and out, and manage payment processing

  • Answer multi-line phone calls, screen needs, and schedule appointments

  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and email and other client communications

  • Maintain a clean and organized client lobby

  • Accurately document client information, communication notes, and other patient data

  • Escalate complex or sensitive situations to senior staff when needed

  • Collaborate closely with the team to support smooth patient flow and a positive client experience


Skills & Requirements

  • Veterinary reception experience required***

  • AVImark experience strongly preferred***

  • Ability to learn and understand basic veterinary concepts (vaccines, preventatives, common conditions)

  • Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Professional, friendly, and calm under pressure


Hours & Compensation

  • Position available as full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours per week)

  • Pay is commensurate with experience
