Job Description

West Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking an immediate experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. We are an engaged two doctor practice providing gold standard care and customer service in a team oriented environment. Our clinic is located just off a main expressway and less than 15 min from the infamous Salt Lake City. We are looking for an individual with strong customer service skills that enjoys working with people & their beloved pets. 

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing both inbound & outbound calls with a positive, bright & knowledgeable attitude
  • Creating & handling appointments.
  • Answering general questions in line with our clinic protocols
  • Welcoming clients into the clinic, getting them checked in & ready for their visit.
  • Generating invoices, receiving, processing and posting payments. This includes handling cash & credit card transactions
  • Reviewing & responding to clinic emails, voicemails & texts
  • Assisting with the maintenance of a welcoming lobby area and exam rooms

Skills needed to achieve success in this role:

  • A friendly and outgoing demeanor with a true desire to make the client experience an exceptional one. Be able to show compassion to both our clientele & their pets.
  • Able to demonstrate an “eager to serve” and a calm-collected demeanor when the environment gets busy.
  • The ability to gather the proper information from clients as to allow the medical staff to access & evaluate a patient’s needs.
  • Excellent skills to problem solve, focus, and pay attention to detail.
  • Shows great initiative, can learn new skills quickly & is able to adapt to any      necessary changes with an optimistic & team oriented attitude. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and skill to confidently relay pertinent information to the appropriate party.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to operate & navigate a computer & it’s software, a multi-line telephone, copier, printer & other reception equipment.
