Our Values & Philosophy

Founded on the principles of advanced veterinary medicine, outstanding patient care, compassion, and strong client communication, Peak fosters a collaborative, supportive, and mentorship-focused environment for our doctors and staff.

Peak is part of Ethos Veterinary Health, a network of cutting-edge specialty hospitals committed to clinical research, education, and innovation in private practice. This partnership allows our clinicians to be part of a larger network while maintaining our hospital’s unique identity.

The Position: What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a team-oriented, communicative, and highly motivated surgeon with a passion for orthopedic surgery, arthroscopy, and clinical research. This role is ideal for a surgeon looking to be part of a collegial and evidence-based practice focused on mentorship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a high volume of orthopedic and oncologic surgeries, with minimal general surgery cases.

• Engage in mentorship in orthopedic surgery, particularly arthroscopy—a strong interest in learning and practicing arthroscopy is essential.

• Participate in clinical research projects, including collaborations with Science Consultancy and Discovery, and support Ethos residents at other hospitals in their research.

• Contribute to the teaching and mentorship of short-term interns, externs, high school and college students, and visiting residents.

• Provide exceptional client communication and education, ensuring pet owners are well-informed and supported in their decision-making.

• Maintain an evidence-based approach to surgery, prioritizing techniques and advancements with strong clinical backing.

• Work in a highly collaborative environment, where surgeons support and mentor each other.

What to Expect at Peak

• A primarily orthopedic and oncologic caseload.

• Minimal general surgery cases—our client demographics do not support niche general surgery interests (e.g., a surgeon looking to develop a hepatic shunt program would not find the caseload to support that specialty).

• Extensive mentorship in orthopedics and arthroscopy. We are fully prepared to train a surgeon who is eager to develop their skills in arthroscopy.

• Opportunities for clinical research, including collaborations within Ethos Veterinary Health.

• A strong teaching culture, though we do not have a formal internship or residency program. We focus on short-term educational opportunities, such as externships and visiting residents.

• A commitment to client communication and education- we take the time to thoroughly educate pet owners and support them in their treatment decisions.

• An evidence-based approach- we prioritize treatments and techniques backed by strong clinical research rather than chasing trends.

• A collaborative team environment, where surgeons actively mentor and support each other.

Benefits & Compensation

In addition to a dynamic and supportive workplace, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

• Health, dental, and vision insurance

• Disability insurance

• 401(k) with employer match

• Generous continuing education allowance

• Opportunities for professional development
