Job Description

Clarke Animal Hospital is currently accepting applications and resumes for a full time to part time LVT to join our team.  We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic that is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care.  LVTs at Clarke play a huge part of our team working with our DVMs, support staff, clients, and patients.  A big plus would be someone who has been in practice for awhile and who loves to share their knowledge to help their coworkers grow.  

 

Salary will be competitive based on experience and technical skills. 

 

Applicant must be a team player with good communication skills to interact with coworkers and clients.  As mentioned above, our LVTs are greatly utilized in all areas of the hospital.  This position includes client education, patient history collection, running laboratory tests, surgery prep , post-op recovery, restraint, administering treatments, venipuncture, and dental prophylaxis.  Our LVTs need to be able to perform in a calm manner and be professional at all times.

 

About Us: 

Clarke is a 4 doctor practice located in the Norton Shores area, between Muskegon and Spring Lake.  We have a team of 26 staff members covering all areas of the hospital.  We currently employ 3 LVTs that rotate through our schedule.  We are committed to providing quality care in a compassionate manner.  We offer preventative care, diagnostic treatment and surgery.  We perform routine surgeries, more complicated soft tissue surgeries, and dental procedures.  We have digital radiology, digital dental radiographs, ultrasound, blood pressure monitoring, and in house lab equipment.  Our staff is a close knit group that enjoys working together and spending some time together away from the office.

 

Job Responsibilities:  Our LVTs are here to assist our DVMs and other support staff in the day to day operations of the clinic.  The following are some of the reponsibilites that you may be required to perform on a daily basis:

  • All aspects of veterinary care (i.e. taking histories, treatments, anesthesia, surgery, pr- and post-operative care, emergency care, restraint)
  • Animal restraint will include dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, birds
  • Venipuncture and catheter placement
  • Calculating drug dosages
  • Radiography
  • Should be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Customer Service
  • Client Education
  • Paperwork and keeping detailed records of client visits, calls and surgeries performed
  • Scrubbing, wrapping and sterilizing of surgical packs
  • Disinfecting and sanitizing the clinic and equipment routinely
  • Other duties as needed
