We are seeking Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants to join our Emergency & Critical Care Team for daytime and swing shifts.

  • Great Learning Opportunities: You will be working alongside many board-certified doctors in a variety of specialties and incredibly talented RVTs. Questions will be asked and answered. Discussions, including detailed explanations on unique cases will take place.

 

  • Advanced Medicine: We are one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s most experienced and advanced teams. By partnering with primary care veterinarians, we provide our patients with the very best specialty care. Our doctors perform a variety of surgeries including advanced soft-tissue, orthopedic, oncologic, neurologic, emergency, and cardio/thoracic.

 

 

About you:

 

·      You have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to):

o   Venipuncture

o   Placing IV Catheters

o   Drug Calculations

o   Administration of Medications (IV or other methods)

o   Taking Vitals

o   Gathering Medical History

o   Providing high quality medical/nursing care

 

  • You work well independently and as part of a team, practicing good judgment to ensure high-quality care for all patients
  • You adapt to the individual needs of each patient, are not afraid to ask questions, are eager to enhance your skill set, and maintain a positive attitude

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Strongly prefer a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), holding a current North Carolina registration
  • Minimum two years’ experience in veterinary medicine, of which one MUST be in Specialty or Emergency Medicine
  • Valid high school diploma or GED
  • Practiced in the skill of advanced patient handling and restraint
  • Have and utilize excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Be flexible and adapt well to new situations
  • Work well as part of a team
  • ezyVet experience is a plus

 

Additional Requirements:

 

Must be eligible to work in the United States and have original, unexpired documents to verify eligibility.

Must have the ability to respond quickly in urgent situations using all senses. During the normal workday, employee may occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds. This position requires standing, walking, and sitting for long periods of time.
