Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center is looking for Licensed Technicians for our Emergency department overnight team that can assist the doctors and technicians by providing the best patient care and customer service. Eligible for a differential during evening hours.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide for the patient’s needs in the ER and critical care department.
- Participate in patient triage to maximize efficiency; provide client updates during triage.
- Assist in patient stabilization including, but not limited to, IV catheter placement, drug/fluid therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Patient monitoring and document in medical record.
- Perform diagnostics and treatments on patients presenting to Emergency Department.
- Perform patient discharge and provide client education including, but not limited to home care instructions, medication information, and monitoring.
- Induce and monitor general anesthesia/sedation procedures.
- Provide updates to pet owners on the status of their pet during duration of visit.
- Maintain open and clear communications with members of patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns
- Technical skills including, but not limited to, IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, venipuncture, and safe restraint
- Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns
- VTS mentorship opportunities available
- All employees will be scheduled and expected to work rotating holiday shifts in the emergency and critical care department.
- All employees are required to participate in the on-call rotation as needed. Shifts are subject to revisions and changes at the discretion of the hospital.
- Document legibly and keep accurate medical records in accordance to hospital policy.
- Clear understanding and enforcement of OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION:
This position has an initial hiring range of $28.00 to $35.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We offer a competitive shift differential for team members working the hours of 6pm to 6am at $4.00 per hour on top of base pay.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an AVMA-Accredited Veterinary Technician Program preferred.
- Must hold an LVT or be able to transfer an out of state license to Washington
- 6 months of veterinary experience required.
- Excellent communication skills. Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to new situations.
- Ability to act as a team player.

Experience:
- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
