Equine Ambulatory Veterinary Technician – Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center

Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a reliable and hardworking Equine Ambulatory Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position works closely with our ambulatory veterinarian, assisting with on-farm calls and providing high-quality care to equine patients in a dynamic, field-based setting.

Schedule:

• 4-day work week
• Rotating surgical on-call shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the veterinarian during ambulatory farm calls
• Safely handle and restrain horses during exams and procedures
• Prepare, maintain, and operate medical equipment in the field
• Set up for procedures and ensure efficiency during farm visits
• Stock and restock the ambulatory truck with necessary supplies and medications
• Drive the veterinary truck to and from appointments as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle and equipment
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members
• Maintain accurate medical records

Qualifications:

• Horse handling experience is a must
• Previous equine experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Comfortable driving a truck and working in a field setting
• Ability to lift and handle equipment and work outdoors in various conditions
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
