Job Description
Bayhill Equine is a sports medicine specialized, fully ambulatory practice serving the San Francisco Peninsula. We are seeking a full-time veterinary technician/assistant who is highly organized, motivated, and goal-oriented to join our growing practice.
The individual in this position is responsible for supporting our ambulatory equine veterinarians. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide support to veterinarians in the delivery of patient care.
- Knowledge of commonly used medications and techniques within the industry.
- Independently set up and maintain specialized diagnostic equipment such as endoscope, ultrasound, and digital x-ray.
- Driving practice vehicles
- Replenish and maintain inventory of practice vehicles.
- Assist veterinarian with recording and entering invoices and medical records.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience handling horses is required. This includes trotting, lunging, and safe handling of horses under sedation and/or in an agitated state.
- Flexible working hours, including evening and weekend on-call emergency rotation.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure in a team environment.
- Dependable transportation and valid California State driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software programs.
- Must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, coworkers, students, and clients.
· Prior experience in veterinary medicine is desirable, but not required.
The hourly range for this position is $21.00-$26.00 depending on experience.
