Bayhill Equine is a fully ambulatory practice specializing in sports medicine, serving the San Francisco Peninsula. Join our dedicated team as an empathetic and team-oriented veterinary technician or assistant. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for animal care and has a deep love for horses. The individual in this position will support our ambulatory equine veterinarians. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist veterinarians in delivering patient care.
  •  Knowledge of commonly used medications and techniques in the industry.
  •        Independently setting up and maintaining specialized diagnostic equipment such as endoscopes, ultrasounds, and digital X-ray machines.
  • Driving practice vehicles.
  • Replenishing and maintaining inventory in practice vehicles.
  • Assisting veterinarians with recording and entering invoices and medical records.

**Job Qualifications:**

  • Experience handling horses, including trotting, lunging, and safely managing horses under sedation or in an agitated state, is required.
  • Flexible working hours, including evening and weekend on-call emergency rotations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under pressure in a team environment.
  • Dependable transportation and a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills with the capability to learn new software programs.
  • Must have the ability to maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, coworkers, students, and clients.

- Prior experience in veterinary medicine is desirable but not required.

 

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $21.00 to $26.00, depending on experience.
