Job Summary
Delmarva Equine Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equine care and handling, with a particular focus on providing high-quality support to veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animals. This role requires a blend of technical skills, knowledge of veterinary terminology, and a passion for animal welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments of animals.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-Rays.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitor animal patients’ vital signs and overall health during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
  • Handle animals safely and effectively during examinations and treatments.
  • Participate in the maintenance of a clean and organized work environment.
  • Ensure track inventory is up to date and fully stocked.

Schedule

·         Floating schedule depends on clinic needs.

Skills

  • Proficient in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the veterinary team.
  • Experience with equine care is a plus.
  • Strong animal handling skills to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
  • Experience working in an equine setting or veterinary environment is preferred.
  • Competence in performing diagnostic procedures such as X-Rays.
