Catalina Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinary technician/floater to join our team! We are centrally located in Tucson near the Winterhaven neighborhood.

Catalina Pet Hospital provides high level general veterinary services including soft tissue surgeries, dental care, preventive and urgent care, in house CBC and blood chemistries, digital body and dental radiographs, laser therapy, and acupuncture. Skills and Basic Qualifications

· Certification as a Veterinary Technician and/or experience working as a Veterinary Technician. Preferably minimum two years experience.

· Must have experience with dental cleanings, dental radiographs, and surgical anesthesia.

· Effectively use low stress patient handling techniques and safely control aggressive animals.

· Superior blood collection and IV catheter placement skills

· Excellent communication skills with doctors, other hospital staff, and clients.

· Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of patient assessments, anesthesia, procedures, treatments, x-ray and laser.

· Detailed oriented person that can make good decisions, respond quickly and quietly to crises, and maintain our standard of patient care.

· Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a veterinary clinic environment, including euthanasia.

· Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and/or assist in lifting over 40 pounds.

· Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.

· Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.

· Must have active listening, attention to details, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, judgment and decision making skills.

· Must have basic computer/office skills that include typing on a keyboard, attaching documents, scanning records, reading records.

· AVImark experience preferred.

Compensation depends on the level of experience and your skill set.

Background and drug screening required.
