Veterinary Technician

Savannah Animal Hospital is a companion animal care practice located just minutes from the beach in historic Lewes, DE.  We are currently seeking Veterinary Technicians who share our passion for animals to join our team.

In this hands-on, fast-paced role, veterinary technicians assist with or perform various treatments to include but not limited to animal restraint, x-rays, ultrasounds, blood draws, medication administration, laboratory tests, client communication, medical records notation, and euthanasia. This position also requires the ability to communicate effectively with the medical staff, co-workers, and clients.    Other hospital wide duties include laundry, dishes, kennel upkeep/sanitation, walking, bathing, and feeding our hospitalized patients.  Vet technicians should be able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.    Standing, bending, and kneeling frequently occurs throughout the day. A strong comfort level with all types of dogs and cats including those sick/injured, frightened or aggressive is necessary.     

Licensed or credentialed veterinary technicians (LVT/CVT) strongly preferred.  

Interested applicants should have two to three years of experience in a technician role in a veterinary hospital setting.  

Positions are full-time, 40 hours per week.   Shifts are 10 - hour days and working every other Saturday is required.
