Hanover Park Animal Care Center is seeking a Veterinary Technician.

Duties include (but not limited to):

 

* Client Interaction and Education – obtain patient histories, explain discharge and medication instructions, make progress calls, etc. * on-site training available*

 

* Animal restraint / Assisting doctors in exam rooms * on-site training available*

 

* Care and treatment of hospitalized patients * on-site training available*

 

* Venipuncture and IV catheter placement * on-site training available*

 

* Basic in-house laboratory / presurgical screening * on-site training available*

 

* Anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery * on-site training available*

 

* Surgical preparation and assistance; Sterilization of instruments * on-site training available*

 

* Performing dental prophylaxis under anesthesia * on-site training available*

 

* Taking digital radiographs * on-site training available*

 

* Maintaining a clean and organized work environment * on-site training available*

 

* Assisting with answering phone calls and scheduling appts, if needed * on-site training available*

 

Requirements/Qualifications

 

Ability to work on weekends

Previous veterinary medicine experience

Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 50 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 50 pounds with assistance

Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
