Our Veterinary Technologists play a pivotal role in supporting Veterinarians to deliver exceptional medical care to our cherished patients.  We are on the lookout to give a unique experience to practicum students who have a positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge and a profound commitment to nurturing the human-animal bond. At Family Pet Hospital & 24Hr Emergency Centre we are a hybrid hospital, that allows for experience in general practice and emergency.

NVA Canada’s VT Practicum Program offers final-year veterinary technician students the chance to gain real-world experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. Work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs at in to develop your clinical skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology and more. Enhance your communication abilities with medical teams and clients, preparing you for a successful career as an RVT. Practicums range from two to eight weeks, fitting your schedule and career goals. Eligible students—those enrolled in an accredited VT program in Canada and completing their final practicum in their final year ——can receive a stipend to help with travel expenses, allowing you to focus on learning without financial worries.
