About Us:

We are a 6 Doctor Animal Hospital whose mission is to help pets live longer, healthier and happier lives by serving our community through client education, empowerment, and shelter partnerships.

We see common household pets such as cats/dogs, but we are planning soon to also see exotics! Staff training has already begun for this– If you want to gain experience with patients outside of the “norm”, we can help you with that!

About You:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician with minimum of one year clinical experience and able to perform all associated duties.
  • Committed to maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture.
  • Dedicated to supporting your team and are willing to assist in all areas of the hospital to enable us to provide the best care possible for each and every patient.
  • Trainable and willing to train others with kindness, patience and understanding.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to follow doctors treatment plans and complete tasks without continuous supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Communicate effectively with staff and clients in order to facilitate patient care.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the veterinary field, medications, and current recommendations so you can help provide client education and assist with client questions.
  • Take initiative to help support others on the team
  • Keep busy during slower times
  • Contribute to continued hospital growth - Bring new ideas and solutions for your team.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and events.
  • Must be punctual and reliable for your shifts.
  • Must be flexible with shifts and willing to fill in/cover as the team needs.

Additional Technical Skills Required:

  • You have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to):
  • Clear client communications
  • Safe animal handling and restraint
  • Organized and thorough with patient care instructions
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Venipuncture
  • Placing IV Catheters
  • Drug Calculations
  • Filling Prescriptions
  • Administering injections (SC/IM/IV)
  • Placement of Microchips
  • Administration of Medications
  • Taking Vitals
  • Gathering Medical History
  • Surgery Assistance, Patient Preparation and Patient Recovery
  • Monitoring and Administering Anesthesia
  • Dentistry
  • Radiographs
  • Balancing Drug Logs
  • Maintaining Surgical Equipment
  • Processing Laboratory Samples
  • Loves to teach but remains teachable

Anticipated Schedule:

  • Full time & Part time opportunities available
  • Full time would include four 10-hour shifts
