Colony Animal Clinic is a progressive, fast-paced, veterinary hospital located in beautiful downtown Fairhope, Alabama. We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team of animal care professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and record patient histories accurately
- Communicate and educate pet owners about preventative care, treatment plans, and wellness services
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Perform laboratory testing, including specimen collection and analysis
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, and dental cleanings
- Take digital radiographs and maintain sterile equipment
- Place IV catheters and assist veterinarians during procedures
- Utilize safe animal handling techniques
- Enter medical data into practice management software
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred
- Previous veterinary clinic experience required
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts and lift 50 lbs
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Excellent communication skills
Schedule & Benefits
- Full-time or Part-time
- Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Weekend/holiday rotation for boarding and hospitalized patient care
