Job Description
Applicants must have a strong work ethic, a positive personality, capable of communicating effectively, be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess or be willing to learn a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to equine patients as well as clients. Applicants must have horse handling skills and be comfortable working with and around horses.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the veterinarian during appointments and use veterinary software for documenting lab results
- Obtain and process laboratory samples
- Perform diagnostic imaging
- Prep patients for and assist in surgery
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
- Provide compassionate patient care
- Willing to work a rotating after hours/ weekend on call schedule
- Keep all areas of the hospital and vet trucks clean and organized
- Have reliable transportation
