State of the art veterinary hospital located in the western suburbs of Chicago seeks energetic, compassionate, experienced, self-motivated team members looking to stay in the veterinary field long term.

We are seeking a registered veterinary technicians to join our team. We are fast pace, high volume full service hospital. We offer veterinary care 7 days a week, boarding, grooming, doggie daycare, adoptions/housing shelter pets, as well as advanced medical care. Our technicians work a combination of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays and tasks include (but are not limited to): monitoring anesthesia, surgery preparation and recovery, seeing technicians appointments, assisting doctors, client communication, filling prescriptions, etc. Wage is based on experience. Will consider a recent graduate waiting to take the VTNE.

In House Diagnostics:

-Digital x-ray

- In House Chemistry and Electrolytes

- Glucometers

-PCV/TS

-Ultrasound

-Companion laser

-ECG/SPO2

-Doppler blood pressure

In House Procedures:

-Routine sedated procedures

-Orthopedic surgeries

- Specialty soft tissue surgeries

-Exotic and pocket pet surgeries

- Diagnostic abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms

-Variety of medical tests (cytology, advanced blood tests, allergy testing, etc.)

Position Requirements:

-Employee needs to be self-motivated and able stay on task

-Employee needs to be able to multi-task

-Employee must have proper phone etiquette, and be able to communicate well with co-workers and clients

-Employee must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours.

-Employee is required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl

-Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs withouth assistance and 100lbs with assistance

-Employee will be required to work 4-10 hours a day

-Employee may be exposed to medications, chemicals, anesthetics and x-rays, potentially harmful to pregnancy or respiratory conditions

- Employees will be required to restrain and care for unruly/aggressive dogs,cats, pocket pets, small reptiles, birds

-Employee may be required to assist with euthanasia

- Employee will be required to handle feces, urine, blood, pus, other fluids and detached body parts of animals

-Wage is based on experience
