Emergency Veterinary Technician (Overnight)

Full-Time or Part-Time | Hudson Oaks (Weatherford), TX

I-20 Animal Hospital is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our dedicated overnight emergency team. We are a busy 24/7 emergency and general practice hospital with eight veterinarians providing advanced medical care to dogs and cats throughout the region.

Whether you're an experienced Veterinary Technician or a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), this is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced ER environment where your skills are valued, and your teammates support you.

What You'll Do

As an Overnight Veterinary Technician, you'll play a critical role in emergency and hospitalized patient care by:

  • Monitoring emergency and hospitalized patients throughout the night
  • Assisting veterinarians with emergency exams, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Placing IV catheters and administering medications and fluid therapy
  • Monitoring anesthesia and supporting emergency surgical procedures
  • Performing venipuncture, laboratory diagnostics, and sample collection
  • Taking and processing digital radiographs
  • Monitoring patient status, pain scores, and recovery
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Communicating patient updates during shift changes and with the medical team
  • Providing compassionate nursing care for critical and hospitalized patients

What We're Looking For

  • Veterinary Technician experience required
  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) encouraged to apply
  • Emergency or critical care experience preferred
  • Strong technical skills including:
    • IV catheter placement
    • Patient monitoring
    • Laboratory diagnostics
    • Radiology
    • Hospitalized patient care
  • Ability to remain calm and organized during emergency situations
  • Positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Dependable with excellent communication skills

Schedule

  • Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available
  • Overnight shifts:
    • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
    • 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Three 12-hour shifts preferred
  • Four 10-hour shifts may be available for the right candidate
  • Current scheduling needs include Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and weekend coverage
