Job Description

Dover Area Animal Hospital in Dover, PA is seeking a veterinarian to join our growing team!

We are a busy mixed animal practice seeing dogs, cats, exotics, and large animals (no equine). Exotics being small mammals, reptiles, birds, pocket pets, and amphibians. Large animals consisting of dairy farm herd health. Wherever your passion lies, our always growing GP small animal clientele will offer lots of variety from routine wellness to full diagnostic workups.

We are currently a 6-Doctor practice operating in a recently expanded and upgraded hospital offering:

  • Surgical and Cold Laser
  • Digital X-Ray
  • Ultrasound
  • Acupuncture
  • Paperless Records
  • 10 Exam Rooms (3 exam rooms equipped with lift tables, 1 exam room set up as “Comfort Room” for Euthanasia)
  • Team Concept Appointment Flow with a 2:1 Tech/Vet Ratio
  • Opportunity to perform multiple routine and non-routine surgeries Monday-Friday

We are open to Veterinarians of all experience levels. If you are a new graduate, we offer mentorship at the hospital level as well as one-on-one training with our mentor veterinarian via a specialized 12-month formal mentorship program.  At Dover you can expect a diverse medical and surgical caseload, so you’ll never be bored!

*EXTERNSHIPS* - We offer externships with a travel stipend (Monetary details provided upon applying). Housing is also available at our MDVM Dr. Rubey’s residence where you will have your own floor all to yourself!

Skills and Qualifications:

Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification. License in good standing to practice in Pennsylvania.
