The Area

Located about 30 minutes west of downtown Phoenix, Litchfield Park was established in 1926 as a humble agricultural community. Litchfield Park is a small residential community in Maricopa County, only 2 miles north of I-10 and 16 miles west of central Phoenix, the historic center of the Southwest Valley. It is a unique city, envisioned to provide both aesthetic and commercial amenities.

Litchfield Park is home to the Wildlife World Zoo - a 215-acre zoo and aquarium. The zoo specializes in African and South American animals and has Arizona's largest collection of exotic animals. You can ride the 0.6 miles "safari train", take a boat ride through the Australian habitat, and take a tram through another segment of the African habitat, there are also several amusement-oriented rides.

Our residents enjoy access to White Tanks Regional Park, named for the natural water tanks once used by resident American Indians. Evidence of these early inhabitants can still be seen today in the petroglyphs and rock carvings throughout the park. Equally close is the 19,000-acre Estrella Mountain Regional Parks that offers camping, hiking and horseback riding, as well as golf at the Tres Rios Golf Course. There is also a hidden gem close by called the Wigwam which has golfing, a spa, and a family friendly resort and restaurants.

When it comes to entertainment, Litchfield Park is hard to beat! We offer a year-round calendar of festivals and special events. Our Entertainment District offers a wide variety of local restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options for the whole family.
