Job Description

West Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking an immediate experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team . Your attention to detail, ability to multi-task, care, concern and handing of clients and their pets is a priority for your position. We currently have two amazing doctors at our practice, and we strive to provide gold standard medical care. Our clinic is located just off a main expressway and less than 15 min from the infamous Salt Lake City, and we serve a diverse community of clients.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Learning & utilizing the computer software to manage patient files

·       Providing confident and knowledgable medical care & advice as directed by our doctors

·       Patient intake & proper information recording; including thourough history & treatment notes

·       Creating & executing treament plans based on doctor reccomendations

·       Medication processing that includes dispensing, advising & recording

·       Managing/completing worklists & follow-ups & cleaning routines

·       Understanding small animal behavior & handling

·       Reviewing & responding to clinic emails & texts

·       Collection, prep & processing of samples for diagnostic purposes

·       Obtaining vitals in both a non-emergent & emergent situations

·       Intaking & processing of surgical and specialty procedures like laser & light therapies

·       Prepping, assiting & monitoring patients in surgery & other procedures

·       Bandaging, IV cath placement, medicine administration, wound clean-up

·       Discussing with owners the importance of the preventatives that we promote here

·       Discussing costs and options with clients

·       Scheduling & deposit collection for future appointments & procedures

·       Confident & proper restraint of small animals safe environment for everyone

·       Performing certain elements of a dental procedure, like scaling & obtaining x-rays

·       Communicating accurately & effectively with your team to help provide good flow & efficency in function

·       Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

·       Helping others grow & learn based on the protocols & training methods of the clinic

·       Ability to demonstrate a  friendly and outgoing demeanor with a true desire to make the client experience an exceptional one.
