Job Description

Vista Veterinary Specialists in Sacramento, CA is seeking a full-time small animal surgeon to join our 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital.   


We are excited to announce that we will be moving into a full-service state-of-the-art specialty and Emergency hospital in the Spring of 2025.

We are eager to find the right full-time surgeon with leadership and strong people skills to help us grow and expand our ability to provide much-needed surgical care for our referral and general community. In return, we are offering an exceptional compensation package including a $100K signing bonus. In this position, you will have the ability to achieve your financial goals and have lifestyle flexibility enabling you to build your own appointment and surgery schedule.  There will be no on-call duties required for this position.



Our hospital

Our current hospital has 3 surgical suites and advanced care equipment including a full complement of Stryker and Storz arthroscopic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic equipment, LigaSure, Stryker and TPS power equipment, various plating systems (locking and standard LC-DCP) and various cruciate repair systems (TPLO, CBLO, TightRope, Securos crimping system). In addition, we provide state-of-the-art anesthesia monitoring and ventilator support, an ICU, on-site Vimago CT/fluoroscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography, and a full in-house laboratory.  We can also provide preferred equipment to the successful candidate.



Our team

In addition to our 9 skilled emergency veterinarians, our team consists of 2 board-certified criticalists, 2 board-certified internists, highly skilled RVTs, and assistantsWe are also supported by contracted services which include radiology, cardiology, and surgery.

Compensation

The compensation for this full-time role typically falls between $300K and $400K based on experience and qualifications. We also provide comprehensive health benefits, 401K, CE allowance, paid vacation, relocation assistance, and a desirable work schedule.
