Us: Located in Decatur, IL – We are an AAHA accredited, full service, general and veterinary dentistry practice, serving the community since 1970! We see pets of all kinds – from fur to scales, we offer care to cats, dogs, pocket, and exotic pets! Our large, spacious clinic spans multiple buildings sharing the same complex. We offer services such as vaccinations & preventative care, soft tissue & orthopedic  surgery, digital full body & ultrasound, laser therapy & acupuncture. Northgate Pet Clinic is fortunate to have a board-certified veterinary dentist to provide dental cleanings, radiographs, and extensive specialized dental care. We also house a clinical laboratory and have participated in clinical drug trials such as Bravecto, Galliprant, and injectable Onsior!

Veterinary Technicians play an integral role in our hospital whether they are handling patient care, taking care of clients, assisting doctors in surgery, or providing quality nursing care to hospitalized patients. You will fully utilize your skillset and continue to develop your knowledge for years to come!

·         Schedule – Our hospital is open Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am- 2:00pm. Full time is 4-day work week (with a regular day off during the week) OR if preferred a 5-day work week when scheduled for a Saturday shift. Saturday shifts are on a rotating schedule (every other).

About You:

·         You are a CVT or otherwise credentialed veterinary technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

·         Take the initiative – you are a hard worker who contributes to the operation of the entire hospital, you will help get all the day’s duties done!

·         You are versatile – you know how to effectively adapt to the individual needs of each patient and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.

·         You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to):

o   Interest in dentistry is a plus

o   Patient assessment and physical examinations

o   Phlebotomy and catheter placement

o   Knowledge of radiology safety and proper technique

o   Anesthesia monitoring proficiency

o   Perioperative surgical nursing skills

o   Routine dental prophylaxis experience

o   Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures

Compensation: $17-22/hr
