Job Description
Spanish Fort Animal Clinic is a companion animal practice that has been keeping pets healthy since 2001. The clinic started in a smaller building nearby, and in December of 2014 expanded into our brand new 6400 sq. ft. facility. Our clinic space offers spacious examination rooms and treatment areas, increased room for boarding, and state-of-the-art equipment. We perform on-site radiography and laboratory testing and have access to ultrasound capabilities. There are currently three full-time veterinarians staffed at Spanish Fort Animal Clinic. Mentorship is available with the opportunity to work with highly experienced veterinarians. On occasion, you may see another one of our team's veterinarians rotate through the practice, so there are a lot of opportunities for collaboration!
ABOUT OUR HOSPITAL
o 4 spacious exam rooms equipped with Technidyne lift table w/scale
o Pharmacy adjacent to exam rooms that is equipped with complete IDEXX suite of equipment and new centrifuge
o Large treatment area with 1 wet tub table equipped for dentals and digital dental x-rays
o Surgery suite and treatment area are equipped with in-wall oxygen and HotDog Warming system
o GE LogiQ Ultrasound, Summus Laser therapy, Tonopen, and other up-to-date equipment
o Avimark software
o Large boarding area, including suites and hospitalization runs

Spanish Fort is an active community blessed with beautiful scenery, excellent schools, rich history, and strong quality of life. We have an abundance of shopping and great food choices nearby. We are about 35 miles away from the sandy white Gulf Shores beaches and 13 miles from the closest 24/7 emergency clinic, which is a quick drive across the beautiful Mobile Bay.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Spanish Fort Animal Clinic are reserved for students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.
