Job Description
Dunes Animal Hospital, is a progressive general practice hospital that embraces a culture of mutual respect and teamwork while providing outstanding patient care and customer service. At Dunes Animal Hospital we put patient care first. We offer all types of preventative care, ultrasound, in-house Idexx laboratory suite, digital x-ray and orthopedics. We also partner with our local wildlife rescue. All Veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships, though preference may be given to students in their final year(s) of veterinary school.
At Dunes Animal Hospital we are committed to lifelong learning. Our objective is to educate veterinary student externs by providing learning opportunities that will build upon the extern’s knowledge base and clinical skills. We are a fun, fast-paced hospital with great clientele. Veterinary Students participate directly with our clinicians in case management.
Ideal Candidates are:
• Veterinary students in good academic standing at an AVMA-accredited school of Veterinary Medicine.
• Hard-working, motivated, friendly, and team-oriented
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
