Join Our Emergency & Critical Care Team at Avets! 


Avets is seeking a Full-Time Emergency Veterinarian to join our established and dedicated team of experienced Emergency Doctors and Specialists in our 19,000 square foot facility, located a short distance from Pittsburgh, PA.   


About Us:

Our 24/7 Specialty & Emergency Trauma Center has been serving the community for over 20 years! The state-of-the-art facility, built in 2021, includes a 16-slice CT, 1.5 Tesla MRI, a dedicated ICU for our most critical patients, and two separate isolation wards 


Avets offers a comprehensive range of specialty services, including Acupuncture, Avian & Exotics, Anesthesia, Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Surgery, and Radioactive Iodine Therapy.  Our team cultivates a collaborative culture, supporting one another and readily sharing expertise whenever questions arise. 


Our commitment to education is demonstrated by hospital-wide support of our specialty and rotating internship programs which include protected time for didactic rounds, available to all, as well as digital resources connecting our team to the full range of expertise offered by Ethos specialists. Our team of VTS (ECC) training coordinators oversee a comprehensive program designed to equip our support staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care for our patients. 


Schedule:

The schedule for our Emergency Doctors consists of 10 shifts/4weeks, including rotating weekend and holiday shifts.  Shift hours are typically: 2pm-2am, 4pm-4am or 8am-8:30pm.


The ideal candidate for this role will have 2+ years of Emergency Medicine experience or have received internship training. Mentorship program options are available for new graduates with a strong background in emergency medicine.
