Are you an experienced Veterinary Assistant or LVT Student, who excels at Patient Handling, Restraint, and Communications? Do you want an opportunity to hone your specialty skills? Do you enjoy the complexities of Specialty medicine and Client Education?

If you answered yes to these questions, then we may be looking for you at Bush Veterinary Neurology Service- Springfield! We are seeking Experienced Veterinary Assistants or LVT Students to join our BVNS Springfield Team.

About you:

  • You love to learn and want to master neurological anatomy and function
  • Your patient restraint skills are top notch and you want to learn how and why neurologic patients require specific restraint/patient care skills
  • Your keen attention to detail helps you recognize changes in patient attitude, abnormal behavior, and changes in condition
  • You work well independently and as part of a close-knit team
  • You pride yourself on your written and verbal communication skills
  • You enjoy client education including intake and discharge instructions
  • You adapt to the individual needs of each patient and are not afraid to ask questions
  • You maintain your calm in stressful situations and maintain a positive attitude
  • EzyVet and SmartFlow experience is a plus.

About Us: 

Bush Veterinary Neurology has four locations across 2 states! Our clinics are operated by board certified neurologists that provide same-day life-saving neurosurgery and long-term medical management. Our hospitals house state of the art equipment to provide advanced diagnostic testing including cerebrospinal fluid collection/analysis, computed tomography, electroencephalography, MRI and more! Our neurologists perform both spinal and brain surgeries. Some of these surgeries include: intervertebral disc surgery, brain tumor removal, foramen magnum decompression, ventricular shunt replacement and more!!

 Qualifications:

  • At least two years of Veterinary experience as a VA
  • Practiced in the skill of advanced patient handling and restraint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Unparalleled patient care and customer service skills
  • Have a valid high school diploma or GED
  • Be flexible and adapt well to new situations
  • Work well as part of a team 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and have original, unexpired documents to verify eligibility. 
  • Must be able to pass a 7-year background check and drug test (complying with local, state and Federal guidelines).

Physical Demands: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. During the normal workday, employee may occasionally lift and/or push/pull up to 50 pounds. This position requires sitting for long periods of time.
