Veterinary ER Technician - Big Sky Animal Medical Center

Position Overview:

Join the compassionate emergency response team at Big Sky Animal Medical Center as a Veterinary ER Technician. This role is critical in providing urgent medical care to pets in emergency situations. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians in a fast-paced environment to save lives and comfort pet owners during stressful times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate medical attention to pets in emergency situations, following protocols for treatment.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests and operate medical equipment to diagnose conditions.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Monitor and care for patients during their recovery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient care and treatment plans.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience in an emergency veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-stress situations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey information to pet owners and team members.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the emergency nature of the role.
