Oakpark Pet Hospital, a leading veterinary care facility located in the heart of Oakville, Ontario, is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team! We are seeking a passionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian committed to providing exceptional veterinary care and building strong relationships with both clients and patients.
Our hospital is fully equipped and offers an array of services including wellness medicine, diagnostic imaging, dental x-ray, CT scan services, cryo surgery, ophthalmic surgery, orthopedic surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopy, airway surgery and more. Job Responsibilities
- Build rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
- Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs.
- Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up to date through established protocols.
- Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
- Present a positive image of the hospital to the professional community and to the public.
- Work in a communicative and collaborative fashion that focuses on team success.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
- Licensure in good standing to practice in Ontario.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
- Ideally two years of experience but open to new graduate hires.
- Soft tissue surgical skillset essential, orthopedic surgery experience considered an asset.
