Schedule:
We believe in offering a well-balanced work life.  The schedule includes only 10-12 shifts per month with a quarterly rotation, but can offer straight overnights if that is your preference. You are welcome to pick up extra shifts for additional income if you choose, it is not required. Our doctors enjoy a consistent 8-day block of time off. 

Compensation: 
We offer a generous compensation package that includes a solid base pay (higher base for straight overnights), 23% production and a signing bonus.  Base salary will be determined by your level of experience.

Mentorship:
No experience in ER but ready to take the leap?  We offer a strong immersive mentorship training program that includes being paired with an experienced Emergency Veterinarian or Criticalist.  Your training will consist of a mix of hands-on and online modules, attending rounds both in person and virtual, and weekly case reviews. You will also rotate among our Specialists in Emergency, Critical Care, Oncology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia and Ophthalmology.  

Year 1: 

  • 1st quarter: 20% problem-based learning, 25% didactic, built-in study time, case reviews. PBL Rounds: M,W and F's. 
  • 2nd half of the 1st year: You will be on a 2 on/3off, 3 on/2 off schedule with every-other weekend. Mainly on the swing schedule with primary case responsibility. Never alone, always with experienced ER doctors to answer questions. 
  • Last quarter of Year 1: Consistent 10 shifts per month, block of 8 days off every 2 weeks, on the floor as an ER doctor and reviewing cases with the mentorship leader. 

Year 2: 

  • You are an independent doctor on the ER schedule full-time with readily-available staff to assist and answer questions.
