Job Description

The veterinary technician works hand in hand with the veterinarian to ensure quality patient care.  The veterinary technician helps in many procedures including physical exam, immunizations, euthanasia, client education, etc. Technicians can also see their own appointments such as vaccinations that don't require a doctor exam, nail trims, anal gland expressions, lab work, discharges etc.  This position requires a knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common zoonotic diseases, symptoms, treatments, preventatives, and basic health care recommendations.  A veterinary technician is under direct guidance and supervision of a lead technician and veterinarian.  These job responsibilities listed do not fully encompass the entire position.
