From Malamutes to Maine Coons, Lizards to Lops, we offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, dental, and reproductive services to our patients. About the position:

Barclay Hills is seeking a hospital assistant to add to our dedicated team. This position does NOT require any previous veterinary expereince, though it is always welcome.

 

Our hospital assistants should be ready to:

  • Clean kennels
  • Control and restrains animals as required.
  • Clean, change, and disinfect cages and runs
  • Stock rooms and treatment area with needles, gauze, and general supplies
  • Maintain both surgical and non-surgical laundry throughout the day
  • Run various labwork for both hospitalized and out-patient pets
  • Fill medication without error
  • Be empathetic to our clients, coworkers, and yourself.
  • Ask for help and offer help to others.
  • Escalate complex matters to senior staff.
  • Grow as a professional and encourage the growth of others.
  • Be a part of monthly meetings to encourage open communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive approach at all times, recognizing that remarkable results are achieved through teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Possess the confidence to own tasks and responsibilities to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Enjoy yourself! If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience.  The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.
