Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital is Hiring! 
(1) FT Veterinary Assistant-Ambulatory Position (Riding with Doctors to farm calls in the field)

The Ideal Candidate:
  • You are a Certified Veterinary technician or Veterinary Assistant (medical background preferred-but not required). You possess solid horse handling skills and knowledge of equine behaviorYou must have at least 5 years' equine handling experience. 
  • A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet
  • You are able to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must not be sensitive to motion sickness, will be required to invoice on computer while Doctor is driving.   
  • Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs
  • You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to):
    • Patient assessment and physical examinations
    • Phlebotomy, catheter placement & management of fluid administration
    • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment, set up and use.
    • Assisting DVM's in patient diagnostics, treatment, and procedures
    • Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures such as CBC/Chem/SAA/fecal testing/IGG/PRP
    • Preparing, updating, and completing patient treatments and maintaining accurate medical records
 
Anticipated Schedule:
  • · Full-time position. Monday-Friday, 7a-5p (these hours may vary based on the Doctors schedule, but typical appointments fall within that window)
