(1) FT Veterinary Assistant-Ambulatory Position (Riding with Doctors to farm calls in the field)

The Ideal Candidate:
- You are a Certified Veterinary technician or Veterinary Assistant (medical background preferred-but not required). You possess solid horse handling skills and knowledge of equine behavior. You must have at least 5 years' equine handling experience.
- A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet
- You are able to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must not be sensitive to motion sickness, will be required to invoice on computer while Doctor is driving.
- Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses
- Must be able to lift 40lbs
- You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to):
- Patient assessment and physical examinations
- Phlebotomy, catheter placement & management of fluid administration
- Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment, set up and use.
- Assisting DVM's in patient diagnostics, treatment, and procedures
- Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures such as CBC/Chem/SAA/fecal testing/IGG/PRP
- Preparing, updating, and completing patient treatments and maintaining accurate medical records
Anticipated Schedule:
- · Full-time position. Monday-Friday, 7a-5p (these hours may vary based on the Doctors schedule, but typical appointments fall within that window)
