Job Description

Fremont Animal Hospital is looking for a Kennel Assistant to join our team

Position Summary: We are currently looking for a full time and part time Kennel attendant.  Candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts along with some weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and be on their feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to work around cats, dogs and occasional pocket pets. We are looking for someone who is an animal lover, conscientious, detail oriented, and who can be responsible for healthy pets, along with hospital boarding pets and daily janitoral needs of the clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and socializing
  • Monitor the health and well-being of the animals
  • Administer medication as needed
  • Clean and maintain and disinfect kennels, equipment inside and out.
  • Greet and assist customers
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to follow instructions and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with animals preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Hours

· Monday – Friday; flexible

· Rotating weekend hours may be required

Salary/Benefits

· Salary is dependent upon previous experience

Benefits available for Full-time position.

 

Prior experience with animal handling is desired, but will train the right candidate depending upon prior experience.
