Veterinary Receptionist

Location: 2064 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729
Pay Range: $16 - $20 per hour (depending on skill level, experience, and relevent education)
Hours: Part-time, flexible schedule

Job Summary: At Park Hills Animal Hospital, we believe that our receptionists are the heart of our practice. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll be the first and last point of contact for our clients, making your role crucial to creating a positive experience. You’ll greet clients and their pets, manage appointment schedules, handle payments, answer phones and emails, and ensure that our clients feel valued and cared for. We’re looking for someone with a positive, friendly attitude who can manage situations with tact and kindness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and their pets as they arrive at the hospital.
  • Answer phone calls, which may involve scheduling appointments, answering questions, and screening for service needs. 
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email.
  • Process payments for visits, medications, and food; handle any late payments.
  • Document and maintain client information, service data and other pertinent information within business operations software.
  • Ensure a welcoming and organized reception area.
  • Provide excellent customer service and help maintain a positive client experience.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience is needed, but a willingness to learn is essential. Previous experience is a plus.
  • Must be computer savvy and possess strong customer service skills.
  • A friendly, positive attitude and the ability to diffuse situations are key.

Work Hours:

  • This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
  • Availability to work evenings and Saturdays is a plus, but not required.
  • Our hours are: Mon, Weds, Fri 8am - 5pm. Tues & Thurs 8am - 8pm. Sat 8am - 2pm.

  • We are a small team, so the ability to work well with others is essential.
