Job Summary:
Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Construction Manager to support key business initiatives for our growing specialty/ER portfolio. In this role, you will help us achieve our ambitious growth goals by serving as the lead person for construction projects, specifically renovations, additions and new builds. Using strong operational, analytical, and influencing skills, you will manage a wide array of capital projects and partner directly with leaders across business units and functions. We need a critical thinker with strong analytical and estimating skills who can dive deep into the details, while never losing site of the core focus on budget and schedule. The position will involve 50% travel in the United States and Canada.
What You’ll Do:
- From inception to completion, determine Hospital needs with Division Leadership, manage the planning, design, budgeting, permitting and construction for veterinary projects as well as services provided by outside architects, engineers and contractors
- Work with Division and Hospital Leadership to analyze needs for a project whether a minor renovation or facility refresh to creating an addition or new facility
- Prepare and communicate information and budgets to assist Division Leadership with the approval of CapEx funds for a project
- Track and create performance reporting tools for all CapEx projects using key metrics and evaluation performance indicators
- Work with all stakeholders to develop equipment needs, budgets and engage with the Procurement Department for the purchase of equipment
- Manage schedules and inspections to deliver projects on-time, at or under budget and insure completed work is of the highest quality all while minimizing disruption to the operating Hospital
- Work with the Legal and Real Estate Teams on any lease issues related to projects
- Work to identify cost saving opportunities and process improvements within a business line and work with the procurement team to streamline purchasing
- Assorted tasks and responsibilities as it relates to evolving and supporting the business
What You’ll Need:
- At least 4 years of experience in construction or design, ideally in veterinary or medical projects (not required)
- Strong critical thinking, analytic reasoning, and creative problem-solving skills. You thrive when faced with a complex problem with no clear answer and enjoy breaking it down
- Working knowledge of construction trade practices and safety requirements sufficient to manage all phases of project planning, construction and renovation
- Experience managing a large volume of construction projects
- “Get it done” attitude. You will succeed in this role if you are a self-starter who is resourceful, collaborative, and solution oriented
- Ability to work independently and to plan, to organize and achieve priorities when performing work. You have a strong attention to detail. Exceptional communication, project control and organization skills with sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity across multiple departments
- Skilled in long and short term planning. Analytical ability to resolve challenges with permanent and temporary solutions
- Demonstrated history of success in leading a team and managing a multiple projects, including the ability to monitor, adjust and maintain scope, schedule and budget for medium to large size projects under multiple delivery methods, such as Design Assist, Design Build, Design/Bid/Build, etc.
- Advanced Excel / PowerPoint skills, Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Heavy travel required, up to 50% annually

The base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $120,000. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
