We are looking for dynamic, customer service-oriented Licensed Pharmacy Technicians to work in our veterinary hospital's pharmacy in Los Altos.

Our current pharmacy team values individuals that are dependable, have a passion for their job, and have great initiative. While you will be working in a Veterinary hospital environment, we operate very similarly to a retail pharmacy. You will not be expected to work hands-on with animals. However, we do require our team members to be comfortable around animals and medical procedures due to the exposure of delivering medications around our hospital

Base Wage: $22.75-$24.75/hourly + applicable differentials

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

  • Offer genuine client service at all times and maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful attitude at all times.
  • Medication consultation on refills and new medications. This is something unique to our industry. Since the veterinarian acts as the pharmacist, it allows the pharmacy technicians to do consultations! (Does this sound a little overwhelming? Don’t worry, we will cover this in your 90-training period)
  • Work closely with the veterinarians to process prescription refills. Process and fill medications for Out-Patient and In-Hospital patients. Approximately 450 prescriptions a day
  • A good knowledge of basic human drugs (brand names and generic names) is a minimum requirement and we will train you on animal specific medications
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter patient chart and medical notes into the computer record
  • Ability to receive multiple oral and written instructions, and efficiently and accurately perform them in a timely manner
  • Take phone calls regarding prescription refills and inquiries from clients, veterinary technicians, and outside pharmacies
  • Comfortable around animals, clients, and medical procedures (while delivering medications you may see medical procedures taking place)
  • Deliver medications & prescription formula food to client’s cars in our parking lot
  • Have excellent communication skills (written and oral) and incredible attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain excellent team work & communication skills under stressful situations
