Full or Part time position available for experienced RVT at Manotick Veterinary Hospital. Situated within the southern boundary of Greater Ottawa, our multi vet general practice has been providing a high level of canine and feline health care for over 30 years.
Our team of professionals works collaboratively to ensure the well-being of every animal that walks through our doors. We pride ourselves on providing top of the line medicine to our patients while always going above and beyond for our clients and community.
Shifts involve rotating days and afternoon/evenings. No nights, weekends, or statutory holidays.
Job Responsibilities:
- We require our RVT understand and perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to): Venipuncture, Placing IV Catheters, Drug Calculations, Administration of Medications (IV or other methods), Taking Vitals, Gathering Medical History
- Assist veterinarians throughout the entire surgical process, from pre-operative preparations to post-operative care
- Perform dental prophylaxis and take dental x-rays
- Proficiently produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples, and conduct various laboratory tests
- Conduct patient care with in-hospital patients as well as outpatients (RVT appointments)

Skills and Basic Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician
- Passed the VTNE or are eligible to write the VTNE
- Be in good standing with the Provincial Regulatory Association
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Strong written and verbal communication
- The ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance and remain standing or walking for extended periods
