Job Description

Be part of the family at the premier general practice small animal veterinary clinic of the Red River Valley! Kindness Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

This position will be regularly scheduled from 7 AM-5 PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, with the addition of rotating Friday's as needed for coverage. Hours worked per week are a guaranteed 27-30 hours per week with a 3 day work schedule, up to 40 hours the weeks scheduled for 4 days per week. This position can be full or part time, depending on the needs of the right applicant. Full-time benefits are available to those who work 30+ hours per week. 

Kindness Animal Hospital was founded in 1985 and since then has worked hard to build its reputation as the premier general practice small animal veterinary clinic of the Red River Valley. We offer the very best in routine preventative healthcare for small animals along with providing advanced medical and surgical services, including orthopedics. Kindness Animal Hospital was acquired by National Veterinary Associates (NVA) in 2021 and has since experienced rapid growth and expansion in staff and services offered. As a Veterinary Receptionist at Kindness Animal Hospital, you will provide an excellent and expeditiousclient experience in a fast-paced environmentby: 

  • Interacting with clients, including greeting, responding to questions, processing incoming and outgoing patients
  • Handle payments in person and over the phone
  • Respond to communications, including inter-office communications, incoming and outgoing mail, email and phone calls, which includes meticulous detail and follow through 
  • Screen appointment requests in person, over the phone and online for service needs to ensure strategic scheduling of doctor and technician time 
  • Accurately document client information, service data and other pertinent information with practice management software in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized and inviting atmosphere 

Requirements:

  • High school graduate, or equivalent 
  • Prior medical training or work experience (in human or veterinary medicine)
  • 2+ years of experience working in an office setting 
  • Great written and oral communication skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Strong financial proficiency to include accurate payment entry, cash handling, cash counting and ability to quickly identify and correct minor accounting discrepancies

This position starts at $18+/hour, DOE, with full-time employees having access to a generous benefits package.
