Huffard Animal Hospital is a well-established and bustling 8-doctor Small Animal General Practice. We offer wellness and preventative care, same-day appointments for sick patients, in-house diagnostic capability (bloodwork, radiographs, ultrasound), overnight supervised hospitalization, technician services, elective and emergency surgeries, dental cleaning, and boarding. 

The veterinary receptionist (also known as Patient Care Coordinator or PCC) provides support to the entire veterinary team. Each department in the hospital works cohesively to safely and compassionately provide the veterinary care needed by pets and their owners. It is important that a candidate for this position be able to integrate well with different people, and to dedicate themselves to providing superior medical care for our patients and their owners. Our staff works a rotating weekly schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

 Qualifications 

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be motivated to independently seek ways to help the team throughout the day, in addition to performing all expected duties
  • Genuinely enjoys working with people and are committed to providing compassionate care for owners as they navigate veterinary care for their beloved pets
  • Is able to effectively shift gears between in-person, phone, and electronic communications while demonstrating patience and maintaining a welcoming and pleasant tone
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service setting, but willing to train on-the-job for motivated candidates

Responsibilities 

  • Provide excellent customer service, including answering phone calls, responding to client texts and emails, and compassionately help clients navigate the care of their pet, whether healthy or ill
  • Schedule appointments for examinations, procedures, and follow-up care
  • Relay client questions and concerns to appropriate members of the medical team when an answer to their inquiry is not readily available/accessible
  • Serve as the front-face of an established and bustling veterinary practice with a strong desire to serve the needs of the community
  • Accurately perfom monetary transactions to include invoicing and collecting payment
  • Diligently review and/or complete medical records as needed

Compensation

  • The base hourly range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
