Kennel Assistant

Central Coast Pet Emergency Hospital is a 24/7 veterinary emergency care facility located in Arroyo Grande. We are currently seeking a part-time Kennel Assistant.

 

Job responsibilities include:

·         Animal care as directed by veterinarians and clinical staff.

·         Assist in the observation of hospitalized patients.

·         Walk animals as instructed and assist in animal restraint for medical procedures.

·         Clean, sterilize instruments, equipment, and materials.

·         Stocking of supplies throughout the hospital.

·         Clean/disinfect cages, exam rooms, and treatment areas of hospital.

·         Daily cleaning of hospital premises including laundry.

·         Filling prescriptions, measuring medications, and labeling containers.

·         Assist with the collection and processing of lab samples.

·         Provide back-up support to the Client Service Team.

Qualities desired include:

·         Small animal handling experience.

·         Professional and courteous demeanor

·         Work collaboratively with hospital team members

·         Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Pro-active and self-directed

·         Able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment

Schedule – Thursdays and Fridays, 11:30am-10pm

 

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate with experience
