Northgate Small Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician with experience within various hospital roles and patient care.

Northgate Small Animal Hospital, located in Collinsville IL, is a well-established, full-service hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We have been serving the community since 1916 and have amazing support from the community. We pride ourselves on having a welcoming environment where team members feel safe to learn and seek guidance from each other. We hold ourselves to high standards and are proud to be an AAHA Accredited Facility. We currently have 4 full-time DVMS, two of which see exotics, and are open 7:30am - 6:00pm Mon-Fri as well as 7:30am - 2:00pm every Saturday.

· Quality Medicine. Our team of Doctors and Technicians utilize state of the art equipment to perform advanced techniques providing excellent care and treatment services.

· Flexible work schedule – Full-Time hours, all employees work rotating Saturdays, CLOSED on major holidays.

Veterinary Technician Requirements:

· Previous Veterinary Experience with references (ideally over 2 years)

· Proficiency in surgical monitoring/knowledge of patient vitals is a huge plus

· Must be able to effectively draw blood, place catheters, and triage patients

· Safely restrain patients for various types of treatments and procedures

· A passion for patient care -- our patients come first

· Strong communication, among coworkers and with clients

· Adaptable to the demands of the day

· Ability to work efficiently, and remain calm during stressful situations.

· Ability to multi-task, remain focused, and follow through with responsibilities

· Ability to safely physically restrain, lift, and carry patients up to 40-50lbs

· Positive attitude and team player personality

· Passion for growth and development, open to accepting feedback

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate patient care and support during examinations and treatments.
  • Assist veterinarians with procedures, including animal catheterization and restraint.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions and treatment plans.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennel management.
  • Stay updated on veterinary terminology and animal physiology to enhance care quality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33 – 38 per week
