Job Description:
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, providing excellent customer service while supporting our veterinary team. Your primary responsibility will be managing client interactions, scheduling appointments, handling calls, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk.
Hours of operation include weekdays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Interaction: Greet clients with a friendly, professional demeanor, both in person and over the phone.
- Scheduling: Manage appointment scheduling, including reminders, cancellations, and follow-ups.
- Communication: Answer client inquiries, provide information about services, and relay messages to the veterinary team.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, update client information, and process medical histories.
- Billing and Payments: Process payments, create invoices, and handle financial transactions with accuracy.
- Pet Care Support: Assist with checking in and out patients, preparing medical records, and ensuring pets are comfortable while waiting for their appointment.
- Administrative Duties: Perform general office tasks such as filing, data entry, managing email, and handling office supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or vocational training a plus).
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a veterinary or medical office setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with clients and their pets.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite) and the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with veterinary practice management software (e.g., eVetPractice, Cornerstone, AVImark).
- Basic understanding of animal care and medical terminology.
- 1 year minimum of veterinary experience.
Compensation/Salary Range
The base hourly range for this position is $17.00 to $22.00 per hour. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
