Job Description
Aurora Animal Hospital is an established AAHA accredited small animal general practice with a loyal clientele from the surrounding affluent neighborhoods still experiencing steady growth.
We are primarily a general practice for dogs and cats including wellness care, urgent care, hospitalization, surgery, dentistry, therapeutic class IV laser, palliative care, humane euthanasia, etc. We also offer urgent care services in addition to general practice. Several of our doctors serve a large exotics client base including small mammals, reptiles, and some birds. We partner with a mobile boarded surgeon, mobile boarded radiologist, and mobile boarded cardiologist who are available at our facility regularly and several referral/ER hospitals in close proximity.
The practice is a spacious modern facility with 8 exam rooms, a comfort room, a dedicated surgery suite, large treatment area, digital radiography, ultrasonography, dental table with digital dental radiography, etc.

Appointments are 30 minutes long and we use Avimark as our PMS with a texting option through AllyDVM.
Benefits:
Competitive annual base salary for full time: $115,000-140,000 plus production based on experience, no negative accrual. CE, license fees, 2-3 weeks PTO, 2 Professional Organization dues, PLIT, Health Insurance, DEA, 401k, employee per discounts, etc.

Job Summary
In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the Associate Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the hospital team who works directly with a Managing Doctor and supporting medical staff. This individual advances the quality of medicine in the practice and provides exceptional client service to our clients and patients.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.
Presents a positive image of the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Manages time and tasks appropriately.
Makes decisions confidently and effectively.
Works collaboratively with hospital team members.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.
Maintains client/patient medical/surgical records and makes certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.
Communicates effectively with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs. Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns.
Performs physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
Assists in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service. Stays current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.
Experience with reptiles and birds is very desirable but not required.
