Abraham’s Equine Clinic, located just east of Cedar Rapids, has a unique opportunity for an experienced practitioner with a special interest in Theriogenology to help grow our service offerings in our NEW Reproduction Facility starting in 2026! Already known as one of the largest stallion stations in the Midwest, we have added a second location, separate from our main hospital, where we will be able to offer all reproductive services under one roof. With greater stalling capacity, increased paddock and pasture space, exercise areas and a beautiful client lounge, we look forward to the continued support of our well-established clients, as well as welcoming new ones!


Current reproduction services include:

  • Mare & Stallion Fertility Exams
  • Embryo Transfer within Recipient Mare Herd
  • ICSI
  • Pre breeding mare treatments and diagnostics, including in-house culture and sensitivity
  • Fresh, Cooled and Frozen Artificial Insemination
  • Stallion Collection
  • Semen Analysis through CASA
  • Semen Processing (freezing, storing, & shipping)
  • Phantom Training

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Accomplished veterinary professional with a passion for progressive Equine Medicine.
  • DVM/VMD or equivalent, eligible for licensure in Iowa.
  • Specialty training in reproductive techniques, including high success rates with embryo transfer (preferred).
  • Board certification in Theriogenology (DACT) is a huge bonus!
  • Motivated and dedicated to outstanding client service and patient care, you enjoy interacting and building relationships with clientele and coworkers.
  • You enjoy having the opportunity to mentor, guide and support professional development for all colleagues, students, and staff to provide personal growth, as well as efficient and effective partnership in patient care.

We offer a competitive salary along with additional performance-related incentives, equitable split of emergency duties (with 4 other doctors), fully equipped ambulatory vehicle, coverage of state licensing fees and relevant association membership dues, $2500 in CE allowance, student loan repayment assistance, and access to our health, wellness, and retirement plans. This position will consist of working primarily at our reproductive center 4-6 months out of the year, with the remainder of the year consisting of general practice work as part of the main hospital, OR the position can be modified to support a practitioner for strictly seasonal work (4–6-month commitment).
