Great Rivers Animal Hospital in Alton, IL is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our compassionate team of pet care professionals. Due to our continued growth, we're excited to welcome a new team member who shares our commitment to exceptional veterinary care.

Great Rivers Animal Hospital is a thriving small animal general practice that recently relocated to our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in 2024. Located near St. Louis, we provide comprehensive veterinary services in a modern, well-equipped environment. Our leadership team is passionate about fostering a healthy work culture where every team member can thrive professionally and personally. 

The Role 

As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you'll be a vital member of our clinical team, working alongside our veterinarians to provide exceptional care to our patients and outstanding service to our clients. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures 

  • Perform laboratory tests and analyze results 

  • Monitor and care for hospitalized patients 

  • Educate clients about pet health and preventative care 

  • Maintain medical records and equipment 

  • Prepare surgical instruments and assist during surgeries 

  • Administer medications and treatments as directed

Qualifications 

  • CVT certification (new graduates welcome!) 

  • Passion for animal care and client education 

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 

 

Salary 

The base hourly range for this position is $20.00-$25.00. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
