Veterinary Technician – Full-Time | AAHA Accredited | No Weekends | North Billerica, MA

Middlesex County Animal Hospital is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! We are a 5-doctor, AAHA-accredited, Fear Free practicing hospital that values high-quality medicine, strong client relationships, and a positive team culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the communication link between doctors, clients, and hospital staff.
  • Collect and relay accurate patient information to the doctors in a timely manner.
  • Provide exceptional client service—bedside manner is just as important as technical skills.
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries.
  • Perform laboratory tests, venipuncture, imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and dental cleanings.
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and fluids as directed.
  • Educate clients on pet care, treatment plans, and preventive medicine.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure hospital cleanliness and safety.
  • Ensure laboratory samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.) are collected and processed correctly.
  • Pre-medicate, induce, intubate, and monitor vital signs under general anesthesia.
  • Assist doctors with follow-ups, reminders, and email/phone communication.
  • Create accurate estimates and charge appropriately for services/products.
  • Work independently while following hospital protocols and taking ownership of patient care.

Who We’re Looking For

·         Must be 18+ years old.

·         Experience & Education: CVT preferred or 1+ years as a veterinary technician/assistant. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.

·         Skills & Traits: Strong communication, reading, writing, and math skills. Must be self-motivated, able to multitask, and work well in a team.

·         Work Ethic & Patient Care: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborates with doctors, and values Fear Free patient care.

·         Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 40 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and work in various positions.

·         Passion for Animals: Enjoys working with animals, even when they are stressed, ill, or in pain.
