Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented veterinary assistant to join our growing team. This is an expanded role that includes various administrative responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Office Assistant Certification required

· Ability to recognize and establish priorities and to respond efficiently and effectively under stress

· Excellent communication skills, computer and phone skills

· Strong understanding of patient management software (Avimark preferred)

· High level of professionalism

· Strong attention to detail

 

Summary of Responsibilities

· Assist with customer-facing duties at the front reception.

· Provide exceptional customer service to pet owners and assist with client communication (verbal and written).

· Assist the Hospital Manager with various administrative duties.

· Assist veterinarians with animal examinations & treatments.

· Handle and restrain animals during procedures with care and compassion.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization in examination rooms and treatment areas.

· Assist with laboratory procedures and sample collection as needed.

· Monitor and record vital signs and patient information accurately.
