VetMed Emergency & Specialty Care is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at our practice.
At Vetmed you’ll have access to world-class specialists in critical care, surgery, radiology and dermatology. Our specialists work closely with the ER and critical care teams, and you will have the opportunity to work both triage and in-patient (hospitalist) shifts. We want you to enjoy both your time at work, and your time away from it. VetMED is located on the north edge of Phoenix, roughly 25 minutes north of Downtown and approximately 15 minutes west of Scottsdale, AZ. If you love being outdoors, Phoenix/Scottsdale is right for you! Popular activities include hiking, golf, spring training baseball, desert ATV/Jeep tours, day trips to Sedona and visiting the Grand Canyon. There is also mountain biking, boating, fishing, and paddle boarding on two lakes within 45 minutes of Phoenix/Scottsdale. Winter sport enthusiasts can find snowy slopes a 2-hour drive away. Phoenix is a diverse and rapidly growing city. With shopping malls, theaters, museums, historical tours, and a thriving bar and culinary scene, you can explore different options frequently and still be looking for what’s next to do! For travel lovers, the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is a great hub for a multitude of destinations to visit family or a planned getaway.
The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program
The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.
The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.
Program Duration/Commitment
· 6-month training program beginning June/July 2025
· 1-year commitment as an ER clinician at an Ethos hospital following training
